“Shirley Payne retired and returned to her hometown, Kelvington, to spend more time with her family and community” says her nominator. “She is an independent woman, accomplished secretary, competent, ambitious, devoted, community-minded and charitable” Shirley’s community involvement includes the production of a local history book, assisting with the local Legion’s project “The Wall War Monument”, she is a qualified lay minister and shares the ministerial services and administration of the local United Church, she sings with the church and community choirs and she volunteers with a number of community clubs and organizations Shirley”s talents, support and inputs are gratefully appreciated
